The aim of the Sleep and Breathing Conference is to support the exchange of knowledge among the international scientific community. Writing an abstract for this conference is an important way for you to communicate your scientific research or clinical practice with your peers.

Abstract submission for Sleep and Breathing 2017 is now closed. 

Guidelines for Authors.

Authors of abstracts will be presenting their work on Thursday and Friday from 13:45 to 14:45. These discussions will be supported by key senior leaders of the programme.


Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits

ERS applied for CME accreditation from the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP) and the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®).

EBAP accreditation board has granted European CME credits for the ERS/ESRS International Sleep and Breathing Conference Programme 2017: 18 CME credits are available (UEMS accreditation is still pending).

Recognition of CME credits

For accredited activities, credits can be exchanged for their national equivalent by contacting your national CME authority. EACCME credits are recognised throughout Europe and in North America.

A record of your CME credit status will also be kept for future reference.

Receiving your credits

Printing or downloading your CME and attendance certificates can only be done online after the Conference from myERS.

Go to MyERS and login with your myERS credentials in order to get your certificates. Please make sure you keep your badge number as it will be required for your identification. Physicians should only claim those hours of credit spent in this educational activity.

Disclaimer: You cannot claim CME credits for attending the sessions organised by industry or Thematic Poster sessions.

EBAPThe ERS Congress programme is reviewed by EBAP each year to provide quality assurance and continuing medical education accreditation (CME) for the event. EBAP is an independent entity that works to ensure the quality and independence of CME activities.

ERS Respiratory Sleep Certified Training Programme

Attendance at the Sleep and Breathing conference is a core part of the ERS Respiratory Sleep Certified Training Programme.

This training programme is designed to train respiratory professionals at a post-specialty or post-graduate level in respiratory sleep medicine. The two-part programme has been developed from the ERS 2015 core curriculum for respiratory sleep practitioners and will guide learners through the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to obtain certification in the following respiratory sleep topics:

  • Medicolegal aspects of sleep disorders
  • PSG
  • Daytime Sleepiness
  • Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) / Noninvasive ventilation (NIV)
  • Respiratory Conditions

Part 1 of the training programe requires attendance at key sessions during the Sleep and Breathing conference.
